Five Years and Still Going Strong
Parkview Homecare becomes the only home health agency in the U.S. to be recognized as a top 100 HomeCare Elite agency for five consecutive years.

MEDITECH's first Home Care Manager customer, Parkview Homecare (Pueblo, CO), was recently named one of the Top 100 "HomeCare Elite" agencies in the nation for 2010, by Outcome Concepts Systems (OCS). This award, which was announced at the National Association of Homecare (NAHC) annual meeting, was based on quality of care, quality improvement, and financial performance. Parkview is the only agency in the U.S. to be recognized as a Top 100 HomeCare Elite agency for five years running.

"MEDITECH's Home Health solution was key in helping us to achieve the quality and performance goals this award recognizes," says Kelea Nardini, director of Parkview Homecare. "Having the rich functionality that MEDITECH's system offers, and being able to see test results in the EMR, has been invaluable for us and for the communities we serve." 

Case management protocols and pathways have helped Parkview to standardize care across the continuum and produce quality outcomes. The system has allowed all staff to view goals set for the patients in the care plan, and specifically identify disease case management goals. Additionally, Parkview is using MEDITECH's well@home telemonitoring devices as part of their disease management tools.

"This award helps us to showcase the value of home care to the public," Nardini says. "By keeping people healthier and more independent for longer periods of time, we're improving patients' day-to-day quality of life, as well as minimizing expensive trips to the ER. Those of us in the field see how important our work is; now, we hope everyone else does, too."
