Announces Executive Promotions

MEDITECH is very
pleased to announce the promotions of Joanne Wood to senior
vice president of client services, Leah Farina to vice
president of client services, and Helen Waters to vice
president of client services. We are proud to recognize the
outstanding efforts of these MEDITECH leaders in helping
customers to meet their objectives. The promotions are a
major part of MEDITECH's restructuring plan to accommodate
the company's recent growth and position MEDITECH for
continued long-term success.
In her new role, Wood will oversee the service and support (including
product installations) for customers using the MAGIC and
Client/Server platforms, with Farina and Waters reporting
directly to her. Wood has been with MEDITECH for 27 years,
guiding customers through the evolution of health care
information technology. She began her career as an
application specialist, before serving as a director of
implementation, vice president of implementation, and later,
vice president of client services—where she has been
responsible for leading a division of more than 1,200 staff
members supporting MEDITECH's 2,300 customers.
Farina will take
charge of add-on product installations for current Client/Server
and MAGIC customers, while also piloting a new effort focused
on supporting the physician community throughout the
installation and service cycle. Farina furthermore will
continue to lead the service and support of MEDITECH's
largest customer, HCA. She started out at MEDITECH 21 years
ago as an application specialist. Since then she has served
in a variety of important roles supporting HCA, including her
most recent position as director of client services, leading
MEDITECH's service and support for HCA. Farina recently also
has headed MEDITECH's service and support roles for our
Nursing and Pharmacy solutions.
Waters will lead the ongoing service and support of all MAGIC
and Client/Server customers, while continuing to direct the
sales relationship with HCA. She has been part of MEDITECH's
team for the past 20 years, successfully serving in several
key marketing and sales positions, including her most recent
role as regional sales director for the midwest. During her
career here, Waters has developed an enviable track record
for establishing long-term, diverse customer relationships
across multiple states—with health care organizations
ranging from stand-alone community hospitals to large, multi-facility
integrated delivery networks.
"The promotion of Leah and Helen to these new roles
within Client Services accommodates MEDITECH's continued
expansion, and will help us meet the service and installation
needs of both new and existing customers," says Wood.
"I am excited to have them join me, and I look forward
to working with them to continue to advance the division."
Steven Koretz, vice
president of implementation, will now oversee both the
implementation and service of MEDITECH's 6.0 customers. In
his new role, Koretz will help bridge the implementation and
service teams, fostering a smooth transition for customers
implementing and migrating to 6.0. "We're building our 6.0
customer base," explains Koretz. "By consolidating
these efforts into one dedicated division, we're providing
continuity, which will help our customers to successfully
reach their goals."
MEDITECH president and CEO Howard Messing also expressed his
enthusiasm for the new opportunities these promotions will
provide for our staff and customer base.
"As we continue to report record sales numbers, and
experience a steady increase in the number of both new and
existing customers turning to 6.0, we feel now is the time to
restructure our organization—to provide levels of
installation and support that meet the evolving needs of our
MAGIC, Client/Server, and 6.0 customers," says Messing.
