MEDITECH Showcases Hot Topics in Health Care at HIMSS 2006

A steady flow of booth traffic at HIMSS—including a diverse mix of existing customers and prospects, as well as a strong affiliate presence—accurately captured the wide scope of health care I.T. needs and corresponding solutions now present within the MEDITECH community. Speech recognition, disaster recovery, outcomes management, and decision support tools were just some of the offerings that MEDITECH and its business allies shared with attendees to show how they can improve care and effectively manage data throughout the continuum.   "In MEDITECH's booth, customers and prospects were able to speak with many MEDITECH representatives, including President and COO Howard Messing and Vice President Marketing Hoda Sayed-Friel. Corporate allies Zynx Health and The Institute for Health Metrics were also on-hand to discuss their offerings and answer questions. Attendees were very interested to learn about the latest developments with our nursing and physicians' products, and a number of our customers (including Citizens Memorial Healthcare CIO Denni McColm) spent time in our booth to share their experiences in the clinical realm with their peers. In addition to the bustling activity in our booth, numerous off-site demonstrations attracted a great deal of attention. A demo of our Scanning and Archiving product proved to be one of the most popular, showing how hospitals can use MEDITECH's capabilities to more easily collect and control information that is either paper-based or stored within their system. Other well-attended demonstrations covered the benefits and features of our Human Resources, Oncology Management, and Bed Management solutions.A major highlight of the week was HIMSS' awards ceremony at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, a "black tie optional" event during which Citizens Memorial was presented with the prestigious Davies Award. McColm invited several Citizens staff members onstage to accept the award with her, as well as representatives from MEDITECH and LSS Data Systems. Customers also found some well-earned food and fun at MEDITECH's annual Customer Appreciation Event, which this year took place at the San Diego Natural History Museum. It was the perfect way to wind down and spend a relaxing evening with friends after a busy day of HIMSS activities!
