Hospitals Named Winners in Modern Healthcare's I.T. Case Study
Contest
Congratulations to Avera Health (Sioux Falls, SD) and Northwest Healthcare (Kalispell, MT) for being named winners in Modern Healthcare's I.T. Case Study Contest. The inaugural contest honors hospitals whose health I.T. implementation projects are improving patient care and may be eligible for American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding.
Both MEDITECH hospitals are recognized for their efforts in providing more accessible care to their rural communities. Avera's telemedicine project, which is the first of its kind in the nation, is successfully connecting patients in sparsely populated regions to critical care services. Meanwhile, Northwest is the largest participant in the Health Information Exchange of Montana--a data-sharing project which links hospitals across a 45,000 square mile area in the western portion of the state.
