Our partner LSS Data Systems recently hosted its 16th annual LSS User Group (LUG) Conference, focusing on "The Spirit of Integration"—an apt description for the mood of the 170 attendees brought together from hospitals around the country, as well as the MEDITECH and LSS staff members who collaborated on this event.

Director of Client Services Carol Labadini was one of many MEDITECH speakers, and she provided attendees with a review of the accomplishments MEDITECH's Client Services division attained in 2007, as well as a look ahead to some of the goals for the remainder of 2008. These include task management changes, incident reporting, and peer review.

"Throughout the conference, we received a lot of positive feedback on the steps MEDITECH and LSS are taking to improve the lines of communication between our respective Service departments," says Labadini. "The conference gave us the opportunity to assure customers of MEDITECH and LSS' close working relationship, as we develop, integrate, and service our products."

Another key MEDITECH presenter was Damian David, supervisor of marketing support, who co-presented Billing Module Integration with LSS' Nicole Farmer, coordinator of billing products. This session provided customers with an overview of how billing information can flow from LSS' Practice Billing and Revenue Cycle solutions to MEDITECH's Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Executive Support System, and Data Repository solutions.

MEDITECH and LSS co-presented on a number of other breakout sessions, including one on C/S and MAGIC Documentation, which focused on how information from MEDITECH's Electronic Medical Record is captured by LSS' Medical and Practice Management solution. Staff members also presented on the topic of integration, focusing on how physician orders placed in LSS' Ambulatory Order Management solution reach MEDITECH's Laboratory and Imaging & Therapeutic Services applications.
