The EHR Initiative

For over three decades, MEDITECH has worked diligently to build and integrate systems which not only serve acute care facilities, but also support the full scope of the health care continuum. Keeping quality, cost, efficiency, and safety at the forefront, MEDITECH has worked closely with its partner LSS Data Systems and wholly owned subsidiary Patient Care Technologies to integrate the acute, emergency, physician office, home care, long-term care, and behavioral health settings. Together, we now are creating a unified, patient-centric record which can be shared by local care providers.

MEDITECH and its partners have a strong interest, not only in supporting the advent of interoperable electronic health records, but also in offering our expertise in their development. MEDITECH is committed to working with the key organizations involved in the EHR effort, lending its clinical and technical expertise where needed, and most importantly, working aggressively to ensure its customers (which now represent approximately 27 percent of the U.S. hospitals) are well-positioned to be early adopters of interoperable electronic records.

As the EHR initiative continues to move forward, MEDITECH will remain committed to ensuring that its customers are able to meet the challenges that federal governments set before them, as well as provide safer and more comprehensive patient care.
