will be provided with a 128 bit SSL encrypted connection
through the adoption of a Verisign Digital Certificate. This
ensures that the data transaction between our web server and
a users web browser, which is indicated through a lock
in the bottom
right hand corner of your web browser, is secured.
This security enhancement should alleviate any fears of confidential patient health and financial information, rarely ever included on MEDITECH.com to begin with, getting intercepted over the Internet. The act of securing patient information that is being transmitted over the Internet enables MEDITECH and our customers to comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996, Public Law No. 104-191, and regulations promulgated pursuant to authority granted therein as set fort at 45 CFR Part 160 and Part 164, Subparts A and E.
