Scanning & Importing

To fulfill the needs of a paperless environment, LSS has developed a scanning and importing solution to electronically capture and store information that has been collected via paper, including such things as past medical history, reports, documents and results. The scanning and importing solution provides the ability to individually scan paper documents as well as to import any electronic files to be included within a patient's enterprise-wide integrated electronic health record. Documents are accessible from both the MPM Patient Record as well as MEDITECH's Enterprise Medical Record (EMR), enabling your organization to generate and maintain complete, secure, legal patient records and allowing for permanent storage of computer-generated files, reports and scanned documents.

Overview of Capabilities:

• Scanned and imported documents may include customizable form types such as patient history forms, legal consent forms, consult letters, and laboratory and radiology results from external organizations.
• The scanned or imported images can be grouped with other similar results and reports in the following categories: Risk/Legal, Laboratory, Imaging, Microbiology, Pathology, and Other Reports.
• Access to edit, view, and enter new scanned or imported documents, within administrative or clinical routines, can be defined on a user-by-user basis.
• Settings can be edited on-the-fly while scanning in documents. These settings include color, page count, single or double sided, orientation, size, resolution, sensitivity, and image output format (.bmp or .tiff).
