Reporting and Decision Support Tools

MEDITECH's customers have a wealth of reporting and decision support tools at their disposal. These tools range from easy-to-use, targeted one-button reports to sophisticated data repository reports.

Electronic Medical Record

MEDITECH's Electronic Medical Record (EMR) is a single record of all care administered to a patient. Physicians, clinic-based caregivers, visiting nurses, clinicians and other authorized providers view the patient information instantaneously - anywhere, anytime.

One-Button Reports

Each MEDITECH application contains a number of standard reports. Users can have access to clinical data and reporting capabilities including user-defined searches, tracking, and statistical information by patient group.

Selection Reports

Selection reports give users the flexibility to customize the output format of reports as they can choose the report content from pre-defined fields.

Executive Support System

MEDITECH's Executive Support System (ESS) is a powerful decision support tool that helps executives and department managers track trends and shifts in clinical, financial, and demographic activity with information from throughout the Health Care Information System (HCIS). User-defined reports can be produced instantaneously, enabling decision makers at all levels to view integrated financial and statistical information and guide strategic plans.

Report Writer

MEDITECH's Report Writer is a tool that allows users to extract information from database files and output the information in useful formats. Users familiar with the NPR programming language can create stand-alone reports or integrate them into many application dictionaries and parameters to create their own forms, labels, and output formats.

SQL Reporting Tools

The data in the Data Repository (DR) product (which receives data from the departmental applications) is stored in a SQL Server database and is accessible using a variety of third-party SQL tools such as Microsoft Access and Crystal Reports.

A feature of our Data Repository that sets it apart from others is its ability to store clinical as well as financial data from throughout the enterprise. This broad scope of information can be analyzed using the repository's standard suite of queries and reports, or the aforementioned third-party SQL packages. These tools enable administrators to visualize data quickly and efficiently.
