MEDITECH's user-defined dictionaries allow authorized users to input, edit, view, and inactivate dictionary information into their database at anytime while a series of security features prevents unauthorized users from changing information. During training, a consistent naming convention between shared entries is established.

The multiple layers of security incorporated into MEDITECH's system and applications protect the confidentiality of patient and financial information. Password and security management functions allow hospitals and health care organizations to define a user's access by application, menus, and/or specific routines, thereby ensuring access to only authorized users.

MEDITECH's Electronic Signature feature enables health care providers to sign or authenticate documents at their computer screens. This capability streamlines the process by which documents are signed, stored, and accessed by virtually eliminating paper from the document signing routine.

MEDITECH's customer-defined screens allow health care organizations to create their own screens and collect specific information not covered by standard prompts.

User-defined rules direct care providers to the next logical step in a given procedure as well as flag dangerous or unusual values. Authorized users may create an unlimited number of rules without technical assistance from MEDITECH.
