MEDITECH Customers Among HealthGrades' Distinguished Hospitals for Patient Safety™

We're proud to announce 77 MEDITECH customers are among the institutions earning a spot on HealthGrades' 5th annual Distinguished Hospitals for Patient Safety™ list, as part of its 2008 Patient Safety in American Hospitals Study. This survey is one of the largest annual American studies judging health care quality, recognizing facilities among the top five percent of all U.S. hospitals.

HealthGrades' best performing hospitals demonstrated an average 43 percent lower incidence of errors than the poorest performing hospitals. The study reports, "if all hospitals performed at the level of Distinguished Hospitals for Patient Safety™, approximately 220,106 patient safety incidents and 37,214 Medicare deaths could have been avoided."
