Health (Sioux Falls, SD) and Thibodaux Regional Medical
Center (Thibodaux, LA)—for being accepted as speakers
for the 2009 Annual HIMSS Conference & Exhibition, set
for April 4-8, in Chicago, IL.
For their session, Jim Veline, senior vice president, CIO and
Tad Jacobs, DO, CMIO of Avera will emphasize the importance
of project management methodologies—such as defining an
HCIT project, setting expectations, engaging users, and
monitoring progress—to ensure on-time, on-budget
implementations and CIO job security.
The event will also feature Terry M. Evans, CIO of Thibodaux,
who will present a unique and simple approach to Information
Services Strategy Planning, which includes leveraging the
unlimited possibilities of information systems to create a
roadmap for future success.
According to HIMSS, this year's call for proposals resulted
in 613 submissions, a record number. For more information on
