Showcasing New Look at HIMSS
WESTWOOD, Ma. --
January 3, 2007 -- Medical Information Technology,
Inc. (MEDITECH), Westwood, MA, the leader in the
health care information systems industry, will
display its latest software, Client/Server Release 5.6,
at show booth #310 at this year's Healthcare
Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS)
2007 Annual Conference & Exhibition in New
Orleans, February 25, through March 1. The 5.6
Release represents a major advance in the design and
workflow navigation of MEDITECH systems. Specific new
products being shown include Oncology Management and
Scanning & Archiving.
"We have designed a new user interface with role-based
desktops and streamlined workflows for more efficient
care delivery," says Hoda Sayed-Friel, Vice
President of Marketing. "Our 5.6 Release
includes evidence-based medicine, e-prescribing, and
medication reconciliation features. MEDITECH and its
affiliates enable hospitals to measure outcomes,
tailor treatments, implement standards of care, and
manage chronic diseases."
On Monday February 26th, Cathy Turner, BSN, MBA, RNBC,
director of MEDITECH's Nursing Informatics Program,
will speak to HIMSS attendees about the increasing
importance of using software to manage chronic
diseases. A well-respected national leader on the
topics of designing and implementing clinical systems,
Turner will speak about incorporating IT tools such
as electronic health records, personal health records,
and other new technologies that deal with our aging
population.
