Berkshire Health Systems' Chief Medical Information Officer, Michael Blackman, MD, recently sat down with HIStalk to discuss the hospital's impressive use of CPOE with 75% of orders placed in the system. The interview details what Berkshire Health (Pittsfield, MA) accomplished with its MEDITECH implementation and its clinical I.T. plans for the future.

"The good news is that our medication error rate has decreased," says Dr. Blackman. "We’ve seen a definite drop in the med error rate every time we bring another group of users on CPOE."
