(4/25/2007)MEDITECH, the leading vendor of health care information systems, today announced the promotion of Robert Gale to the position of Senior Vice President, Product Development and Michelle O'Connor to the position of Vice President, Product Development. As Senior Vice President, Mr. Gale will serve in an advisory role over MEDITECH's development efforts and play a leading role in future special projects. As Vice President, Ms. O'Connor will have the primary responsibility for the direct management of MEDITECH's development efforts, as well as shaping MEDITECH's longer-term direction.
"Bob has been very instrumental in MEDITECH's continued quality and success of its software releases," said Howard Messing, President and COO of MEDITECH. "We're very proud of his leadership, support, and knowledge, and we are happy to recognize him with this promotion."
Mr. Gale joined MEDITECH 31 years ago, implementing systems and helping with the design of early versions of MEDITECH's applications. He was soon promoted to Director of HCIS, overseeing the successful implementation of all clinical applications. In 1995, MEDITECH's Board of Directors appointed Mr. Gale to Vice President of the Columbia (HCA) division. Mr. Gale later served as Vice President of Product Development, overseeing the design, development, and quality of all MEDITECH applications.
Ms. O'Connor started her MEDITECH career nearly twenty years ago in the Implementation division and transitioned to MEDITECH's Product Development division, where she worked with Mr. Gale for over 12 years. During those years, Ms. O'Connor was at the forefront of many new development efforts for MEDITECH's products. Most recently, Ms. O'Connor served as the Director of Development for Physician Care Manager and Enterprise Medical Records (EMR) products, focusing on MEDITECH's Advanced Clinical System and leading MEDITECH's development efforts for its physician and ordering products.
"Bob recognized Michelle's talents and has been grooming her as his eventual successor," added Messing. "Her promotion to Vice President is the next step in that process, and one that will not only be a key benefit to MEDITECH but also our customers. We're thrilled that both Bob and Michelle will continue to help shape MEDITECH's future and our continued success in the health care industry."
