Maestro Impresses
Government Surveyors at Great River Home
Health Care
Just six
weeks after going LIVE with Maestro, Great
River Home Health Care (West Burlington, IA)
had their unannounced state government
certification survey. Although this is a
routine quarterly visit, it still came as a
bit of a surprise for the folks at Great
River, since they were in the midst of
transitioning both their clinical and billing
environments from PtCT's legacy system,
inSync, to Maestroa groundbreaking,
process-based software technology.
"We went LIVE with Maestro on February 1,
so at the time of the visit we had only been
LIVE for six weeks," says Diane Wykert,
RN, case manager for Great River. "Despite
this short time frame, we already had 75% of
our patient population registered in the
system, and were adjusting nicely to the
workflow improvements Maestro offers."
Maestro is designed to intuitively understand
the needs of a home care or hospice agency,
combining business intelligence with cutting
edge monitoring tools to both automate
processes and guide the workflow of home care
clinicians. Maestro presents end users with a
customized "to do list," which is
constantly updated based on an agency's
processes, each person's daily tasks and
responsibilities, or work previously
completed by others. With Maestro, home care
agencies can run their facility in real time,
constantly responding and adapting to new
circumstances as they unfold.
From the start of the survey visit, the state
surveyors were immediately impressed with
Maestro's functionality. "They really
liked Maestro, especially how easy it was to
get what they needed out of the system,"
says Wykert. "With Maestro, we were able
to pull all the visits the surveyors needed
to review, verify the orders for these visits,
and even show them the electronic signatures.
Maestro had all the information our surveyors
needed right at their fingertips."
In addition, Maestro documents all activity
on one visit, keeping track of all edits or
corrections, including late entries to the
original visit notes, and requiring signed
verifications if another user made changes to
the visit. "Because Maestro captures all
that information in the patient's record, we
were able to present the surveyors with all
the activity on one visit, and had the
required authorizations that are often hard
to track down," explains Wykert.
As a result, Great River received
overwhelmingly positive feedback on their
most recent visit. "One of the surveyors
actually remarked that Maestro was the most
efficient home care I.T. system they had seen
before," says Wykert. "They were
amazed at the availability of information,
and how easy it was to extract data from the
system. Thanks to Maestro, we had a
phenomenal survey experience and rating."
"This is exactly what Maestro was
designed to do, improve the operating
efficiency and performance of a home care
agency," says Brian Doyle, director of
Home Care sales for PtCT. "We want to
extend our congratulations to Great River on
passing their survey with flying colors!"
