Greetings everyone! It's been a while since I provided a snapshot of what's going on with MEDITECH Home Care. Our market has been extremely active throughout 2010, and I'm excited to report that our first two quarters
were among our largest ever for Home Care bookings. The industry is recognizing the value of home care in the health care continuum, and is taking note of the integration between our Home Care solutions and HCIS.
And of course, our loyal customers continue to advance their systems. As of today, we have over 320 total customers, and 40 organizations have the latest version of MEDITECH Home Care installed. Among those 40 customers, 27 are LIVE, and another 48 are projected to be running MEDITECH Home Care by the end of 2011. We're busy!
Telehealth is another exploding market, and I expect to see tremendous growth in this area as well. Again, MEDITECH's integrated offerings set us apart. You've seen recently on our Portal the
story of Citizens
Memorial Healthcare (Bolivar, MO) and their use of well@home
Telehealth. We are currently running this story as the lead item on the home page of
www.meditech.com, to more
widely showcase their success.
We expect the role of information technology in home care to dramatically increase over the next few years, particularly as government mandates (such as ARRA) start to more directly involve home care and emphasize greater integration among care settings. The future of health care delivery lies in providing "Care Without Walls," expanding the scope of care provided in the home, as disease management steps to the forefront and more and more facilities become Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs).
As we've seen on the acute care side, we expect this very active marketplace to continue to emerge, and we are extremely confident that MEDITECH Home Care will continue to prosper going forward.
