Statement on OASIS-C
Patient Care
Technologies would like to take this opportunity
to address concerns our customers may have with
OASIS-C, as well as outline PtCT's steps to help
them prepare for the future.
As you may
already know, CMS announced back in November 2007
that it would be making changes to the OASIS-B1
instrument. These changes are slated to go into
effect January 1, 2010. One of the major
adjustments that will affect the OASIS instrument
involves a closer tie to plan-of-care assessments
for wounds, immunizations, drug regimen reviews,
depression screenings, and caregiver assistance.
The purpose is to continue to guide the home
health industry in its outcomes and performance
monitoring initiatives.
Since learning
of these changes, PtCT's Development team has
been working diligently to meet the OASIS-C
provisions. To ensure our customers are operating
with the most up-to-date and compliant tools, we
will not be delivering OASIS-C updates until we
receive final regulations and technical guidance
from CMS. We expect to release the updates during
the beginning of the 4th quarter of 2009, well
before the January 2010 deadline.
For more
information about OASIS-C, and the steps PtCT is
taking to help customers with these changes,
please feel free to contact Brian Doyle. Our Client Resources
page currently features a new document reflecting the revised
standards for Maestro and inSync, to meet these
OASIS instrument requirements. Customers will
need their PtCT username and password to access
this document.
