Latest Stage 6 Customer: Ephraim McDowell Health
With MEDITECH's EHR, the organization is
focused on reducing costs as well as improving
patient outcomes.
Congratulations to
Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center (Danville,
KY) and Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital (Stanford,
KY), both of which recently received Stage 6 EMR Adoption
Recognition status from HIMSS Analytics.
Located in central Kentucky, the
two hospitals reached Stage 6 with MEDITECH's
Advanced Clinical System. With the help of
Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) and
clinical decision support rules, both facilities
maintain closed loop medication
administrationusing bar code scanning to
ensure patients always receive the correct
medication.
"These advancements with EHRs
are linked to better patient care outcomes, as
well as reduction of health care costs and waste,"
says Becky Blevins, information services project
manager at Ephraim McDowell Health. She notes
that Ephraim McDowell's advanced technology
system also enables caregivers to access and
track quality of care data, as well as use the
information to address future industry
transformations and mandates.
