As the year 2001 gets underway, MEDITECH looks towards the future now more than ever. In this issue, the first of the New Year, we
discuss our intent to build on the foundations of the past year, particularly expanding our efforts with our new MIX customer service program. Several of this month's articles will also be focusing on the challenges that lie ahead in the field of e-health. We discuss how MEDITECH plans to meet the growing demands for secure, accurate and easily-accessible medical information well into the 21st century.
In our featured interview, Senior Vice President Ed Pisinski speaks out about the tremendous impact the Internet has had on health care, and how MEDITECH products will help customers grow with these changes. We provide an update on further improvements to MEDITECH Internet Gateway, as several new beta sites prepare to begin testing the new order entry and secure messaging capabilities. And we are pleased to announce the release of Patient Education Product Samplers, which will allow customers to experience the benefits of this educational tool, at no cost.
We also discuss the latest developments on HIPAA, and look forward to the 2001 HIMSS Conference and Exhibition in New Orleans, Louisiana next month.
